Pastor Doug Vaughan
Doug Vaughan was born in Fort Worth, Texas in 1962. Doug grew up in the small farming community of Grapevine, located midway between Dallas and Fort Worth.
After graduating from Grapevine High School, Doug attended the University of Texas at Arlington where, in 1985, he graduated with a degree in sociology.
In order to pursue God’s call to ministry, Doug continued his education at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He completed a master of theology degree in 1990 and finished a master of religious education degree in 1993.
In 1994, Doug and his family moved to Reno when he accepted the invitation to serve as the associate pastor of Steamboat Baptist Church. After an incredible year with Steamboat, Doug helped in the formation and start-up of Crosspoint Community Church. In 2000, Doug received the Doctor of Ministry from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary.
In his time away from work, Doug enjoys a variety of activities. He loves to read, play tennis, do yard work, hang out at Barnes & Noble, and bake desserts, especially cheesecake. Doug is also a big fan of “The Andy Griffith Show.”
